Why join a Synagogue?
We understand why many within the Jewish community have a disconnect with Synagogues when it comes to membership. They feel like all a Synagogue is about is collecting dues. We’re different from the rest. For us at CBS/BD, membership is being part of a vibrant and growing Jewish community.
There is more that you want than just High Holiday tickets, it’s to be part of a Jewish community. It’s to make connections with people that end up being your second family. Being part of a Synagogue is about getting a Jewish education for your children. There are those places that offer one day Hebrew School, but a Synagogue will provide a meaningful Jewish education where the children will actually learn. Being part of a Synagogue is an integral part of keeping a Jewish home and pass this wonderful tradition to the next generation.
Why Join Congregation B’nai Sholom – Beth David?
There is a reason that CBS/BD attracts members from Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Oceanside, and the surrounding communities. We are a Conservative Synagogue that is both Egalitarian, but mindful of the tradition of Halacha. We are inclusive, which means we are inclusive of all people and all views within the framework of Conservative Judaism.
When you join CBS/BD, you are not there just because we need the dues, you become part of a larger family. When Hurricane Sandy devastated many of our congregants in Oceanside, our Rabbi and the Sisterhood delivered care packages to our members. When life cycle events happen, our members will always be there for you because you became a part of the CBS/BD family. We believe we are such a welcoming place, we forego a year of dues for new members with young Hebrew School children because we are convinced you will love it here. We are welcoming and respectful of Interfaith families. We offer some of the lowest dues in the area because being a member of a Synagogue isn’t just paying dues. Try us, you will love it here.
